After growing up in China, I went to the Netherlands for my university studies. Between 2017 - 2020 I did my bachelor's in astronomy from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, with the final project being under the supervison of Prof. Rien van de Weijgaert. Afterwards, I moved to Leiden pursuing a master's in physics (2020 - 2023). My first research project looked at modified gravity under the supervision of Prof. Alessandra Silvestri. The second looked at the possibility for a cluster of intermediate-mass black holes residing in galactic centers with Prof. Simon Portegies Zwart, who has also been my PhD supervisor since. Although a struggle in the beginning, I have seemingly followed a family tradition of being computationally inclined. The idea of translating mathematics into codes to decipher some of nature's greatest mysteries and study emergent phenomena is particularly enticing. In this sense, all my major projects have undertaken a computational approach while I refine skills by taking additional courses offered by Leiden University and spending time outside of work to enhance my knowledge - particularly in the domain of high-performance computing.

Outside of work, I like to try and stay rooted to Earth. I especially like gardening and bird watching, but other hobbies include photography, reading and going to museums.
